Internet data download charges now reduced

There’s good news for students returning to study in 2015 – the price of internet data downloads has been reduced!

The Division of Information Technology (DIT) has announced the cost of internet data download changes for students has been reduced to $1.65 (including GST) for every Gigabyte downloaded during the peak periods of 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday.

What does this mean?

If you are a student who likes to download from the Internet in the peak period, you will save some money! Even better, this reduction is in place now.

How does it work?

The process will remain the same – you will still be given allocated data quotas and be able to purchase extra data once you’ve exhausted your quota:

  • All students – yearly, one off, non-refundable allocation of 1 Gigabyte of data
  • Residence Life students – 10 Gigabyte quota allocation for free each calendar month (non-cumulative)

The only difference now is that your allocated and extra quota will go a lot further, which means more money to spend on important things.

Additionally, off-peak Internet data download costs (5pm – 9am) and data download costs within the CSU network will remain free.
