CSU Sport Grand Final Wrap

CSU Bathurst Ladies Soccer 1st Grade Winners

It’s grand final time across the country and a number of CSU sporting teams have fought their way to the top competing in grand final events over the weekend.

Getting to the top is no mean feat, so we spoke to Francesca Van Blerk, member of the winning CSU Bathurst Ladies 1st Grade Champion of Champions soccer team, to get the inside scoop on sport at CSU.

“For me it’s about being able to share my passion for sport with like-minded people, it’s such a social part of uni life.  I’ve been playing sport for four years with CSU and have loved every minute – this year’s achievement was certainly a career highlight, taking out the grand final and making the second round of the Champion of Champions competition,” says Francesca.

Francesca’s hot tip for why you should get involved in sport at uni – “it’s such a great way to meet people and keep fit. Playing in a regional area also gives you the opportunity to travel, I’ve been able to visit so many country towns and see a different side of sport.

“From social dorm sports and local club competitions to Uni Games (both Eastern University Games and Australian University Games), there are loads of opportunities to get involved in sport at CSU. Regardless of your skill level there’s something for everyone, and everyone is accepted.”

Looking for a team to join in 2016? Look no further than CSU Sport who can put you in touch with a number of clubs across our campus footprint, or email sport@csu.edu.au
