New look for CSU security

New look for CSU security

The security team at Charles Sturt University (CSU) will look a little different from now on, but the service to students remains the same.

In early October CSU security transitioned to a new provider, Bluestar Security, for all security operations.

The new service included the rollout of Bluestar branded security vehicles to patrol campuses – you may have already noticed these on your campus!

Security staff are also easily identifiable, wearing their new CSU/Bluestar dual-branded uniforms.

Security services are offered 24-hours a day, seven days a week at all CSU locations (except Canberra), with
on-campus security officers patrolling the Bathurst and Wagga Wagga campuses all-year round.

At other CSU locations, security services are provided through a combination of on-campus staff, mobile patrols, 24/7 emergency response and static guarding.

Security services at CSU offer endless support to students including a safe escort service after dark, providing general assistance, answering inquiries, patrolling campus for safety and protection of people and assets, providing first aid assistance, accepting incident reports from members of the community about thefts, responding to reports about suspicious persons, activity or conduct, supervising traffic and parking operations and responding to emergencies.

Phone numbers and security services/operations have not changed and can be found on the Division of Facilities Management webpage.

Some after-hours calls will be diverted through to Bluestar’s 24/7 control centre, so don’t be alarmed by the change of operator – they are there to help! All Bluestar operators are equipped to handle security matters on CSU campuses, ensuring a faster response to security matters.

If you need any assistance, dial ‘400’ from any internal CSU phone for campus security. In the case of an emergency phone 000 (fire, police, ambulance), and then campus security.
