So, you’re at the pointy end of the session, final assignments are fast approaching and you’re trying to prepare for exams.

How do you keep calm when the pressure is on? Here are five tips to help:

Structure and organise your time

Create a study planner to ensure you’re using your time wisely. Remember to factor in study breaks, meals, hobbies and sleep! Binge studying isn’t good for anyone so plan ahead and stay organised.

Keep a clean study environment

A clean and tidy study environment will help keep your mind on track. So go on, procrastinate for 15 minutes and clean your room!

Find your motivation

Identify what’s keeping you going – it might be graduation, a holiday, spending more time with your family or having more time for Netflix. Whatever it is, write it down, stick it on your wall and look at it every time you need a reminder of why you’re working so hard.

Practice mindfulness

Mindfulness involves paying attention to the present moment, helping you to rest your mind and body. Being mindful while studying can help you focus on one task at a time instead of multi-tasking which means you’re more likely to perform that task well.

Stay in touch

Stay in touch with your family, friends and other members of your support network. Talking to people will help you manage your stress and stay connected with the world. Remember, CSU Student Counsellors are here to help you find support, learn coping strategies or just talk so don’t hesitate to make an appointment.
