University is something we all want to excel at, it is shaping our future careers after all. So you may be wondering what you can do to ace your uni journey? Whether you are a brand new student, have changed degrees or are only one session in, here are some tips to keep yourself on track for the rest of your degree.
- Read your subject outline
The only way to get the marks you dream of is to know what your lectures are looking for. By heading straight to your subject outline and following all the information provided on it you will know what work is required of you to achieve the desired marks and in turn learn the content that one day you will be putting into practice.
- Ask questions
Even as a post-grad student I still ask questions. Your lecturers are there to aid you in your learning journey and clarify things you may not quite understand. I used to always be worried to ask a question in fear I’d be wrong and have to start over (we all know how much time and effort that takes) but in reality, finding out if you could improve on something is worth the effort in the long run.
- Use the resources given to you
I can not stress enough the large scale of resources CSU willingly provides to us all. You can access these resources through CSU website, Interact 2 and if you are struggling to locate what you are after askCSU are always there ready to answer your questions and guide you in the right direction.
We are all strapped for time at uni, whether you have a part-time job or have a family to look after, the key to staying on top of your work and getting through each session is to have a game plan. Map out what is due and when to set aside time for your study. Lists will be your new best friend!
- Make friends!
Speaking of friends, we all need those late night study buddies who will head to the library with us! Whether it is for exam cramming or working on the last of an assessment before its deadline. Socialising and bouncing ideas off each other will keep you motivated and remind you that you are not alone.
Now it’s time for you to take these tips and ace your degree!
