Have you found scholarships that you’re interested in and are not sure how to apply? Here are five easy steps to help you apply:
1. Read up:
Read all the criteria and guidelines so you only put effort into applying for the scholarships that you’re eligible for. It’s easy to miss questions or important information, plus each scholarship has different criteria. So, be sure to double check exactly what’s required!
2. Start early:
Deadlines can creep up on you fast. It is best to start early, so you don’t have to rush your application and can give yourself the best chance of being successful. Some scholarships may take longer than others, plan ahead to allow yourself enough time for each one.
3. Follow directions:
Take the time to answer all questions and provide as much info as possible. Remember to include all the documents that are asked for. Your aim is for your scholarship to stand out and be remembered!
4. Put your best foot forward:
Scholarship donors want to know who you are, so tell them your story! Include a personal statement that provides insight into your personality, passions and how a scholarship could make a difference to you. Include examples of your achievements, community involvement, volunteering or work experience.
5. Edit and review:
Make sure your application is clear and concise. Check for spelling and grammar by reading aloud and ask a friend or family member to read it too. Give it a quick review before hitting submit.
There are over 300 scholarships available! They will be open until February 2019, so find out which scholarships you’re eligible for and get your applications in now.
