Everyone’s personal tastes are different so I’ve tried to include a little something for everyone. If you’re at a loss for what to watch, here are some of my best suggestions!

Midnight in Paris

A movie for the romantics and artists amongst us. Rated 93% on Rotten Tomatoes, the time travel movie covers the story of an author in Paris who meets artists from the 20th century including Ernst Hemmingway and Salvador Dali. Entertaining, educational and with a hint of whimsy, a number one choice for any student.

Derry Girls

A comedy like none I have ever seen and is sure to get you into happier spirits! As an Irish born and bred, I can confirm that the Irish accent, acting and representation in this TV series is 100% genuine and is very impressive. Rated 98% on Rotten Tomatoes, the series details the everyday adventures of four girls in the town of Londonderry during the 1990s Northern Ireland conflict with the IRA.

Coach Carter

An inspirational true story of one man’s mission to change lives through basketball – suitable for the whole family. The movie tells the story of the perseverance of a sports coach to help his students get to college despite the opposition from fellow teachers, parents and society at large.

Schitt’s Creek

A series which you will watch over and over due to its absurd characters, hysterical moments and clever script writing. The show is rated 92% on Rotten Tomatoes and tells a story of a wealthy family that goes bankrupt and moves to a backwater town full of entertaining characters that challenge their lifestyle.

The Boy Who Harnessed The Wind

A great family movie based on a true story of an incredible boy in Africa who invented the windmill. The movie is considered a classic, featured in the 2019 Sundance Film Festival and winning the NAACP award for Outstanding Directing.

Notting Hill

A comedy romance featuring the highly talented duo of Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts. The movie covers the age old story of a bookseller who falls for an actress and details their rocky road due to the divide in social classes and lifestyle. A feel good movie to relieve some stress.

Car Masters – Rust to Riches

As a fan of Top Gear, I love this series and I am only a couple of episodes in. Entertaining, funny and perfect for your family and housemates to watch with you, there’s something in this series for everyone. It’ll have you dreaming of life size Hot Wheel cars and driving monster trucks back to campus.
